Throughout Ireland, family carers dedicate themselves to providing remarkable levels of care in the home to their loved ones. More than ever and due to Covid-19, family carers have had to display even more resilience in the face of adversity and with many services and supports temporarily unavailable, it’s never been a more important time to recognise and pay tribute to the selfless work they do every day.
Once a year, we can give them the acknowledgement they deserve through the Netwatch Carer of the Year Awards, however this year is very different. As we cannot come together for this usual celebration, we are going online for the Netwatch Year of the Family Carer.
2020 will forever be etched in our memories but Family Carers Ireland wants us to all come together in solidarity with a Concert for Family Carers. This online event was held on November 28th especially for family carers, their loved ones, friends, family and neighbours. Celtic Tenor Matthew Gilsenan and special guest Deirdre Shannon performed some amazing and inspirational songs. Click here to watch back the event.
As part of the Netwatch Year of the Family Carer, we have launched a beautiful photo exhibition called “Every Picture Tells a Story”. Featuring 10 family carers and the stories behind each portrait, these special photos are available to buy from companies and individuals who would like to donate to a National Hardship Fund for family carers most affected by the pandemic. Each company will gift the photo to the family and €5,000 will be directly donated this hardship fund. Family Carers Ireland will also supply you with your own version of the portrait.
You can view our online photo exhibition by clicking here.
If you would like to learn more about our exhibition, please Freephone 1800 24 07 24 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We're calling on everyone in Ireland to donate just €4 if you can to the Family Carers Ireland National Hardship Fund. Most of us are not in the office so why not swap your annual Kris Kindle for a text-to-donate?
Simply text FAMILY CARERS TO 50300 to donate €4.
Text costs €4. Family Carers Ireland will receive a minimum of €3.60. Service Provider: LIKECHARITY. Helpline: 076 6805278.
If your company was planning a Christmas Party, why not re-direct that pot of money to our hardship fund? We can guarantee you that every cent you donate will go toward family carers who have been adversely affected by the pandemic.
Chat to us about either of the above ideas and we can send you some artwork to support this Christmas Appeal.
Just email email@example.com.
